Living in Indy... Indiana Historical Society |
Indianapolis is a rich city in the heart of the Midwest. A city rich in arts and culture, history and heritage, time-honored traditions and endless possibilities. The nation’s 12th largest city has gone through a dramatic revitalization and stunning renaissance period that makes it a different place than it was only 10 years ago. Indianapolis is the perfect balance of big-city style and genuine Hoosier hospitality.
At IUPUI, on-campus residents have a world of opportunity just outside their door. Each housing unit is within walking distance of classes, the library, and even the Olympic-class Natatorium. Students living on campus can use resources like these frequently due to their convenient location. In addition, a wide variety of social and cultural events are held on campus: coffee hours, dances, intramurals, movie nights, and holiday celebrations, to name a few. And the greater Indianapolis community offers everything from Broadway shows to a night at the symphony.
Access to valuable resources is critical to a student's success, but relationships are an undeniably vital aspect of student life. While the Residence Life staff is committed to creating an environment that enhances the social needs of its residents, camaraderie develops naturally in the tight-knit community of on-campus residents.
