BSW Child Welfare Scholars Programs offers tuition assistance, stipend and job guarantee to students interested in a career in child services  Students at a BSW Scholars Program recruiting session
Sept. 25, 2009 - The School of Social recently held two recruiting sessions at IUPUI for the Bachelor of Social Work Child Welfare Scholars Program that offers tuition assistance, a stipend and a job offer for those wanting a career in child services.
The program pays for tuition for all courses students take their senior year as well as a $2,000 stipend for two semesters. In addition, students who graduate from the program are promised a job at a Department of Child Services office within two months of graduation.
Anita Osborn, of the Indiana University School of Social Work, told students Thursday that she worked for the state for nearly 22 years in child protective services. “I absolutely loved my job. It’s challenging. I felt like I was making a difference.”
