Kathy Lay is selected as member of FACET March 6, 2008 - Dr. Kathy Lay, an assistant professor at the Indiana School of Social Work, has been named a member of IU’s Faculty Colloquium on Excellence in Teaching.
Lay, who joined the faculty of the IU School of Social Work in 2002, said “it is a nice honor,’ to be selected to be a member of FACET.
The process began last fall when she was nominated for FACET. As part of her candidacy for the honor, her teaching philosophy and skills were evaluated by her peers.
She will be inducted into the group in May at an annual retreat in French Lick.
FACET was established as an Indiana University Presidential Initiative in 1989 to promote and sustain teaching excellence. Each year about 20 to 25 candidates from across the IU campuses from various disciplines are selected as new members.
As a FACET member Lay will be involved in various activities to promote teaching and learning.
Lay, who is from Louisville, Ky., received her PhD in social work from the University of Louisville with a certificate in Women’s Studies. Previously, she taught at Spalding University in Louisville. Kathy Lay
